  • Yes, one-day passes will be available for sale at the main gate located at Maymont's Lower Hampton Street entrance. The festival provides complimentary shuttle bus service that drops off at this entrance on a continual basis throughout the festival. Please note that weekend passes are sold in advance of the event only.

  • Yes, the Richmond Jazz and Music Festival is a rain or shine event.

  • All transactions at this year's festival will be CASHLESS. All major credit cards and debit cards are accepted. Service charges apply to all orders.

  • As an outdoor event, seating will NOT BE PROVIDED. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and/or blankets.

  • Absolutely, the safety and well-being of our attendees are of paramount importance to us. We take security very seriously and have implemented comprehensive measures to ensure a secure environment throughout the Richmond Jazz and Music Festival. Our dedicated security team along with the Richmond Police Department will be present at all times to monitor the festival grounds, entrances, and key areas. We're working closely with our security partners to maintain a safe atmosphere for everyone. Additionally, bag checks and security wanding screenings will be conducted at entry points to ensure the safety of all attendees. We encourage you to cooperate with our security personnel and adhere to any guidelines provided.

  • To ensure the safety, comfort, and enjoyment of all attendees, the following items are not permitted within the festival grounds:

    1. Tents, Canopies, Sunshades, Chairs with tops & Large Umbrellas – These obstruct sightlines, crowd movement, and security visibility. Open spaces help maintain a safe and communal environment.

    2. Coolers- Coolers larger than 20 qt are not permitted on festival grounds.

    3. Illegal Substances – The possession or use of illegal drugs is strictly prohibited.

    4. Outside Alcohol – No outside alcoholic beverages allowed. A variety of drinks are available from on-site vendors.

    5. Glass Containers – For safety reasons, all glass containers are prohibited. Please use non-glass alternatives.

    6. Weapons – Firearms, knives, and any sharp or dangerous objects are strictly forbidden.

    7. Laser Pointers – These present a safety hazard and are not allowed.

    8. Drones & Remote-Controlled Devices – Not permitted within the festival area.

    9. Animals – Only certified service animals are allowed.

    10. Skates, Electric Scooters & Hoverboards – These are not allowed for safety and logistical reasons.

    11. Professional Recording Equipment – Tripods, detachable-lens cameras, and other professional gear are prohibited without prior authorization.

    12. Unauthorized Promotional Materials – Distribution or display of unapproved marketing content or commercial activity is not allowed.

    13. Flammable Items – Fireworks, flares, and other flammable objects are strictly prohibited.

  • Yes, you are welcome to bring your own food and non-alcoholic beverages to the festival. However, please note the following restrictions:

    • No outside alcoholic beverages (including wine and spirits) are allowed.

    • Glass containers are strictly prohibited — please use plastic or other non-breakable alternatives.

    • Coolers and picnic baskets are allowed and will be subject to search at the entrance.

    • Coolers must not exceed 20 quarts (18.9 liters) in size to help ensure a smooth entry process and accommodate crowd flow.

    The vendor application portal will open on March 16, 2026, and close on May 31, 2026. We encourage all interested vendors to submit their applications within this timeframe, as submissions will not be accepted after the closing date.

  • Only ticketed festival attendees will be granted entry to Maymont on August 8 and 9.

  • Yes. Festival attendees may take self-guided tours of the Maymont Gardens! Some attractions may be closed.

  • While the festival is designed for a mature audience, children 2 years of age and younger will be admitted free of charge. Children 3 years of age and older will require a ticket for entry.

  • The festival welcomes patrons with mobility devices. Please find some basic information on our Accessibility page to assist you in having an enjoyable experience. We look forward to having you!

  • No. Cooking (gas grills, charcoal grills, hibachi grills, fondue fountains, open flames, etc.) on the grounds is STRICTLY PROHIBITED.

  • No. Only registered service animals are permitted in Maymont.

  • Yes. When you leave Maymont during the event, you will be given a re-entry hand stamp. You are able to re-enter Maymont provided that you have the proper re-entry hand stamp.

  • In the event of rain, handheld umbrellas are permitted on festival grounds. However, tents, canopies, and other forms of outdoor shelter are not allowed, unless provided by the Richmond Jazz and Music Festival.

    We kindly ask that you be considerate of others and avoid obstructing views of the stages. This also applies to canopy chairs and any items that may block sightlines for fellow attendees.

    Please note: Festival staff reserves the right to ask attendees to lower or remove umbrellas or other obstructions if they interfere with the experience of others.
